Hello forum members,

 

I'm having an issue where every time I turn on my computer it wants to do a Windows update, where it ends up with this error:" we couldn't complete the updates undoing changes" and restarts three times until it finally reaches the start screen.

 

From what I have read it seems to lead to a corrupt Windows system files, but trying all the fixes (SFC command, DISM etc) all of them give me errors

 

 

The only thing I can think of now is a clean reinstall of Windows, but if there is a fix anyone has tried and works I would rather do that.

There is a windows update troubleshooter. Usually fixes problems I've had in the past. MAybe nowhere near sever though. Reinstalling windows is a hassle but relatively painless. I've been back in business in less than an hour with windows 10 due to their usb creation method that puts the latest build on the flash drive.

Installing a few programs doesn't take too long.

I went through it just last week to better integrate a new SSD. Honestly wasn't too big a hassle like a disc install that takes 30min then all the updates which takes around 2 hours.
