390 VS 390x

Go to solution Solved by Stardar1,

Should I get a 390 or a 390x? Is there that much of a performance increase that makes it worth getting?

Well, the R9 390 compares to the GTX 970, while the 390x compares to the 980.

It is only an increase of $100 USD, and I believe it is worth it.

At the time of my purchase the X was a lot of extra money for a little added benefit.  Prices seem to be drawing tighter now - well under $100 difference lately.

If I was buying today and had the extra dough, I'd go X.

Edit:  Oh My

Yeah I'll just go for a 390, the x doesn't have a big enough performance difference it seems.

390 is better value

390X is 10% faster. That's about it

390X is 7% faster...but like 25% more expensive...it's really not worth it unless there is an amazing deal on a 390X:

I know their scores are bad, but it was the first place i looked that had both sets of specs, and those are accurate.

use this site, this is 100% user submitted results database...it won't lie:

You can run the benchmarks and submit your scores and see how well you did :)

Yes, but the specs are still accurate.
