TV vs. G-Sync monitor - That's like night and day.

To make it short: Everything will feel at least 100 times smoother on a monitor, especially on a G-Sync one. Especially for gaming I recommend monitors instead of TVs and G-Sync will make your experience even better.

Im having a similar debate of 1440P vs G sync. I can't quite stretch to 1440P+ G sync so its one or the other for me. Ive read there is quite a bit of input lag on g sync, not sure how true it is

If not gsync, at least use a monitor not a tv. Even tvs with "low latency" mode for games still have ALOT of input lag compared to monitors.

What is your budget for a monitor? What games do you play and what are your system specs?

G-Sync is a very useful thing to go with.  If you are going with G-Sync then you might as well make sure the second number on your GPU is high.  Like a 660 at least for the most performance.

 

I would however recommend

If you are getting G-Sync than go balls to the wall and get a really powerful screen (don't waste the opportunity) and make sure your GPU is a recent version of NVidias cards (I recommend one of the 900 series, at least a 960 for good performance for your monitor)

I have the original swift and I don't notice any input lag. I personally won't go back to a non adaptive refresh rate monitor but I also got 1440p which is also very nice. Hard decision you have there. If you went with the 1440p one what refresh rate does it have? If it's 60Hz I'd recommend the G-sync one. If its 120+Hz I'd go with the 1440p one (this is assuming the G-sync one is 120+Hz). Just my 2 cents
