Hi all. I was wondering what everyone's experience was in regards to the best GPU in terms of smoothest performance. I keep hearing that GPU's in sli/crossfire suffer from microstuttering and that can really distract from the experience. However, I've also heard that this is really only a major issue with lower end cards and that higher end cards like the GTX 780 or titan in sli work very well. What are your guy's thoughts?

This question has stemmed from the fact that I have a OC GTX 770 right now for a 1080p monitor. I guess I'm wondering if in the future I want to upgrade should I try another 770 in sli or just go with a single GTX titan or 690 (even though I've heard the 690's multiple gpu setup can experience microstuttering as well, however much that is). I know everything will give me high fps but I really want a smooth ultra setting experience with future games like BF4.

P.s. sorry I seem like a NVidia fanboy. I also like video editing which I've heard NVidia's cuda cores are good for that. Also, lets say money isn't a problem. These are my computer specs

750w xfx power supply
asus sabertooth z87 mobo
Cooler master HAF912 ATX case

lol, you aren't a fanboy if you buy/like their stuff, fanboyism is being completely blinded by companies bad decisions and you will agree with them to a point where it's not even logical, but that's off topic
you will have microstutter, AMD is working on fixing it, but I don't know how Nvidia is dealing with it

Ive had a 690 as well as sli 680's and will soon have sli 770's.. being that the 770 is basically a 680 i can tell you the experience is butter smooth and ive never noticed the microstuttering because nvidia's solution to it is hardware based and so well done that i couldnt notice it except on some really terrible console ports :P ill be running triple 770's very soon and i can let you know how it goes should you be interested in knowing

Wow thanks everyone for the quick responses. Let me ask u guys this. If I do go the 770 sli route will I have enough power for it with my 750 w power supply?

Depending on what exact PSU it is, if it is 750W 80+ broze certified or higher, it should work fine.

And do u guys think the 2 gb of VRAM will hurt me though for the future? i know that in sli VRAM does not change correct? Like 2 will not become 4 just cause of two cards.

Yes, they share the vram so it would effectively be 2GB.

I'd get a 7970 instead since it has similar performance, more vram, and quite cheaper.

If you only have a single 1080p monitor, 2gb's is fine for now and perfect for upcoming announced titles, but after that, who knows what the future brings :P

AMDs ain't quite there yet, even with single card solutions there are still frame timing issues, (assassins creed brotherhood prime example)

thankfully you can downlooad radeon pro to fix this.

Nvidia's SLI solution these days is very very good, although i a preferring my new AMD 7970 single card solution now over my 560'SLI (crisper image quality, noticeable less input lag, nicer texture filtering and more performance of course)
