So i'm build a conputer fir my dad work and with a budget of $750 i got a ASRock z97 pro 4 and i5 4690k and a m.2 samsung 950 256gb and the rest stuff needed for a vuild. So i tried installing windows on the m.2 drivr and it said their were no drives detected. I don't know ehat i did wrong but can you guys help me? because i need to have this finished by tommorow. I'm currently got to dinner at my grandparents house so i wont be home for an hour or two after this post goes up.

As far as I know, Z97 doesn't support NVMe as a boot device.

 

Scratch that, should work. IDK though.

Is it detected in bios?

If it's not showing in the bios then the drive is faulty. My girlfriend's rig has an m.2 SSD in it and it is detected by the bios etc.

Check out linus's video on how to configure your m.2 ssd drive. Its in the bios by default it's set to disabled you have to go in and enable it good luck.
