Thanks for the help

Just to warn you, those benchmarks aren't correct.

Because some youtuber has different results? Strong argument, appeal to authority.

Also, not seeing Rainbow Siege or Arma 3 in there.

Nvidia are generally more expensive

Sapphire Nitro is the best 390

If you don't mind an absurd 375 Watt TDP.

  • AMD Athlon X4 760K CPU   |   MSI FM2+ ATX A88X-G45 Motherboard   |   8GB 1600MHz RAM   |   MSI GTX 760 GPU (Reference)
  • Thermaltake Versa H22 Case   |   1TB Seagate, 0.5TB Hitachi (7200RPM)   |   ArcticRed+ 700WStock    |   Windows 8.1

*275w tdp. Also, an overclocked 970 can easily break the 200w barrier.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

Wait. The website I looked at said it was 375 watts... I'm not defending NVIDIA either I wanted an R9 390 either way.

That's weird, must've been a typo. I have to agree 375w is too much though IMO.

375W is the full system power draw with a maxed OCed 390 and OCed CPU

Either way I think I'm going to stick with the MSI card as it's slightly cheaper and will look better in my build as I think the nitro will be pretty close to the cooling rad if I had that in the case or may not even fit at all.

First one is a performance score, pointless.

Second is without context about the load.

Third is system power consumption, which doesn't tell you shit. But is basically the same numbers.

system wattage with the only difference being the GPU? basic math

No it's not basic math, otherwise Tom's Hardware and PCPer wouldn't have invested in hardware that intercepts power. Because you don't know how the components are being individually burdened.

Again, the numbers are the same. That big difference is furmark, yet another example how AMD isn't fully saturating their hardware in games. Because furkmark does.

Furmark forces ridiculous amounts of power as it's a Power Virus/Torture test that is intentionally throttled by Nvidia so as to not kill cards. AMD Overdrive also throttles it hard.

According to TinyTomLogan a 380 draws 130W. Care to comment?
