Im going to go with the 970 and I think that I may aswell replace the ssd with a hard drive since I don't really think that I will be bothered with it. Ive never used one before and its not of up most importance.

Just make sure you get an SSD as soon as you have the money, they are well worth every penny, trust me on that

I can't stop spending money my stupid home lab, help.

you just literally got the one EVGA power supply you should never replace a CX with...

Heard plenty of bad things about the CXs in high-end rigs. Never heard anything like that about EVGA's bronze series- only that they're efficient and reliable power supplies while still being affordable.

Then again, if you're in the UK, get the PSU I have- a SeaSonic ECO series. It's cheap as heck, but if Seasonic isn't reliable, then I don't know what is. Unfortunately, I can't find this in many places besides Asia and some parts of Europe, so you may have to do a little digging.

EDIT: Since updating the part list it seems that if I swap to a 970 and add a 1TB hard drive it comes out at £748 which is fine for me. So whatever I will keep the ssd then

Have you ever seen a loading screen? Unless this machine is going to be your first gaming experience, you probably have.

Nobody likes loading screens.

Get an SSD and wave them a happy goodbye. Those three hundred and ninety seven Skyrim mods won't ever give your oven timer a run for its money again.

evga's B series is about the same quality as corsair CX, but the reason you hear much more screaming about CX is corsair haters, and evga fanboys.

Well, if what you say is true, OP would be better off with Seasonic's budget-end S12ii line, especially since the super-budget-end ECO series might be harder to find outside of South Asia.

as far as i know all that seasonic (and xfx, because xfx = seasonic) makes is quality work, although they seem to be very keen on their 80+ bronze xD

They really are. Even though my ECO-430 isn't remarkable with its two 12-volt rails and its single 6+2 pin PCI-e power cable, it's 87% efficient from what I read. And it retails for LESS than the CX-430 here in India most of the time.

If you dont mind me asking but what is the difference between the 6600k vs 4690k?

It intel newest platform. By buying the 4690k you're buying tech that is already replaced. Skylake (6600K) offers more PCI lanes, is faster (more work per hz) and offers more bandwidth via DDR4

Have a look here at the FPS difference between them:

8gb is quickly becoming the normal ram required for games, it won't be long before 16gb is the norm

I think that id rather keep with 8gb now and then upgrade to 16gb when the time comes. Plus with the money I save then, I can buy a new game and since I have a part time job, when the time comes to upgrade, I will have plenty of money

Nobody needs an OS.

I can get OS for either free or really cheap so that isnt a concern

The problem with that is you either use 1x 8gb stick (loose dual channel) or go 2x 4gb which means when you upgrade you have no ram slots left to upgrade further down the line

I might just keep with the 4690k and overclock that so then I will save money cause its edging more towards 800+ which I really don't want and plus from that comparison video, the frame rate was not so signicant
