Hi, can any of you guys suggest a good laptop. preferably has a skylake i7 processor, minimum of 970m graphics card. and m.2 or ssd storage drive and boot up drive.

Edit: should also be 17 inch screen.

thanks!!

If you want, go with a Sager NP 8677.  I've got the 8678-S and it's fantastic.  Check my sig for my specs.

the sager 8677 looks pretty good. is there any benefit having m.2 in raid 0 and raid 1? m.2 itself is fast isnt it?

Edit: also how is the cooling for the sager?

Razer Blade is good though pricey and not really upgradable aside from the razer core.

Sager/Clevo's are alright. Great price to performance but the support is non existent. Very upgradable. Any warranty issues go through the reseller usually. if you choose one I'd go through xoticpc

Alienware is great, lower priced than the Razer. Large and heavy but good cooling units. Lots of upgradability inside the machine and long lengthy guides on how to do the upgrades (Installing new GPUs and such). Better support than clevo/sager if you live in the continental United States. If you live in another country the support is awful. (In the US they do in home repairs on Alienware machines). If you decide to go this route call Dell and order over the phone and haggle. I got several hundred off when I bought one over the phone years ago.

Asus and MSI are similarly priced to Alienware. I don't particularly like them since if I was in the market for a gaming laptop I'd want the in home warranty service.

I don't care for the Lenovo gaming laptops. I think they look horrible.

RAID-ing M.2 only works if both M.2 drives are SATA-based ones. The 8677/8678 have 3 cooling fans each.

The cooling is goddamn amazing.  My temps stay under 72 degrees at full load, and the fans have never reached max rpms.  It runs passively on the desktop.  And I didn't get raid, as the 4 lane PCI-e bus is fast enough.

sure, it's good, but it also weighs 8.6 pounds and is 1.5" thick.  Not to mention, the battery life will be even worse.
