As long as it has space for it it should be fine, but depending on how old it is it will impact the speeds of file access

Old HDD? sure im using a frekin 10 years old even not a sata HDD and works well. Dont use SSD what are used because well you know...nce you rech its death nothink gona come back

Been using my 620GB WD Caviar (no color, it's that old) since 2007. The drive was used before that, too, just not in my PC.
