Minecraft Resolution Problems

So when I play Minecraft I want to play at a lower resolution but when I enlarge the Minecraft window to fill the whole screen it changes the resolution to 1080p and my computer can't handle that. Is there a way I could increase the size of the Minecraft window without increasing the resolution?

I'm not sure but try setting res to whatever you want then going fullscreen. (Might need optifine)

For minecraft, Its virtually impossible since resolution is based by the window size.

Decrease the whole resolution of your display might work

not really because full screen your be using all your pixels so a smaller box is less pixels it needs to render

You can change your display resolution (display properties - resolution). If you set it to 600x800 your Minecraft fullscreen will be at that resolution.

Well, then you'll just need to upgrade or turn the settings down a lot if the game cant handle it.

Its semi-light weight I don't understand how it "couldn't handle it"
