I have believed that APU is the ultimate option when it comes to budget gaming. B)

Take the AMD A10-6800K it costs about $150, So is there a better CPU+GPU solution that cost about the same and performs better in games?

What's you opinion?

Yes. There are far better choices.

Any dedicated GPU can smash the APU.

And cheap processors are out there waiting for you.

Price-to-performance, APUs are extremely bad. Add few $ and you get better CPU+GPU combo.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

At the price point of an APU, you won't be able to get better CPU + GPU combo. But if you're willing to spend like an extra $50 - $75 you would be able to destroy it.

This will work better.

Can i stress it?

THIS WILL WORK FAR BETTER.

Altho i see one problem for going with this combo, you are essentialy gimping yourself a lot by going the way of dead socket (FM2) either with APU or x4 750k.

i'd got as low as a Phenom II x4 955 or something with am3+ mobo, this way you can at least upgrade. Now the problem is an 'upgrade-ready' mobo is something with enough vrm power and that would be a 90-110$ motherboard. Any less than that wont be able to handle an 8320/8350 or something that can come out in the future for AM3,

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

They're discontinuing AM3, so it is the real dead socket. AM3 sadly has no future.

So i think the general opinion seems to be that one should spend a little more and get a lot more value, thanks this has been helpful.

The reason why i brought this up is because i live in india and amd being more worldwide has apu at a price similar to that in US but GPU board partners have graphics card which are quite more expensive compared to US.

For Example: Powercolor HD7770 would cost 9000 Rupees = $132. Compared to 80 in US while an A10-6800K costs 10000 Rupees = $147.

So i guess apu might make more sense in india but you guys get hardware for so reasonable price  <_<

I said aM3+... am3 is a different thing. and lol lol lol there were no new CPUs since last Phenom II x6 in 2010 for AM3, it was dead for a long time now.

AM3+ supports CPUs from AM3 and AM3+ so that's why i said you need expensive mobo for upgradability. If you dont want upgradability get Athlon x4 740 + cheaper mobo and you're set (with cheap mobo you aint overclocking so why buy the unlocked cpu?).

Rest of funds ===>>> GPU and you can wire FX-4300 without l3 cache (that's what Athlon x4 740/750k are) to any GPU and it will perform nicely. Depending on location either some Radeon or Nvidia (depending on how much money left for spending on GPU, something from HD77xx series or 78xx, or maybe 650ti/660/660ti if you can get one cheaper etc.)

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

it doesn`t matter lol. if you need more cpu power in the future than the slow athlon x4,what do you do on FM2? what ? with the phenom 2 on am3+,well...you can upgrade to a better cpu very easy.

Ye it is better but needs some juicy mobo which aint cheap to overclock. I myself bought Phenom II x6 two weeks ago, OC-ed on my old mobo to stable Turbo clocks all-time and DAMN is this good CPU for 130$!!! It actually costed less than FX-6300 and less than FX-4300 and not much more (20$) than Phenom II x4 965 :P

How much does the 5800k cost? The 6800k is only a bit better.

You could get a Celeron and a cheapo dedicated GPU for way more performance than a APU for about the same cost.

Get the 5800k instead if you're going APU. Like I said, it's not that much of a difference between the two.

apus A10 and A8 "are" the best choice (outside US at least)

and if you need create a cheap cyber, you can start with four or six apus A4

in any case... the trick is buy the cheapest 1600 mhz rams, and OC it until reach 1800 mhz

APU is the way  B)

APU = A10

The reality of it is it depends. Do you want something that gets good performance and decent power draw for the performance? APUs are the way to go. APUs in addition take up less space and produce less heat overall than a separate CPU and GPU.
