What kind of APU?

I'm looking at computers and was wondering what best-budget APU to get.

 

Is it worth getting a Pentium? or a A8/A6?

 

Its only going to be for internet browsing/Office so nothing extreme

 

Whatever is best for the money really

Basically, if all you want is light-weight stuff, get an A8 for 4K content playback thanks to the iGPU being better than a Pentium iGPU.

Get an A8 6600k. It's super cheap and runs like a champ. I put one in my gaming rig last year and it ran fine. Even had no problem running a few smaller games before I put a dedicated GPU in it. Although, I would have to recommend the cooler, because the stock cooler with that chip sounds like a jet.

I would change the HDD for a 120GB SSD, but maybe thats not enough space for you.

AMD Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor is what I'd get if not an A10.  Just me.  Then again there is also the AMD A8-7670K 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor which = better than the one you had in.

This build isn't for me its for a 'Client' who asked me to build him a simple PC. Wanted to get the best APU for their money. Thinking the 6600k so far, looks a lot better for the price

Oh.  Well, they seem to wanna keep it under 80.    That why I suggested the higher A8 or the 860k.

I vote 7600K since Kaveri is notably better CPU-wise

I think that is.  My gf uses the 6600k for gaming, and she plays games like Borderlands 2 and higher graphical games.  It's a really nice APU if you can find it for the right price.  However, the 860k might last them longer for the single thread application.  It's around the same price as all of those, and performs at A10 level.

Think it really all comes down to what he wants, I've noted the suggestions down so will have to see, thanks for the suggestions!

I would recommend 2133mhz memory as apu's use the system memory for the GPU. Might make it worth going for 8gb ram also

2x4 is 20% better than 1x8 for APUs btw

Well, the 7670k does have a larger cacher+R7 graphics.  That means more room to multitask, and the 7670k does allow higher frequency ram too.
