Hey guys! I got myself a Reference 980ti, and just slapped the EVGA Hybrid cooler on it, now I think it's time for some overclocking.

I have a ton of experience overclocking CPU's but never done anything with a GPU..

Please give me your recommendations and advice:) What Program should I use? do you know of a good guide? what should I look out for? what clock is a good starting point?

This is what i use http://www.evga.com/precision/

along with Heaven Benchmark running https://unigine.com/products/benchmarks/heaven/

run heaven and the program at the same time, slowly put the memory up and look for visual issues in the benchmark, once you see issues happening move the memory back down about 10-15 and take note of that number (if 10-15 doesnt fix the visual issues then move it down til it does). reset everything and do the same thing with the core clock. once you have both safe values slowely move them both up to the same value and you have your Overclock. basically thats it

Monitor your fire strike runs for artifacts, screen tearing, etc... when these are present, you'll need to go ahead and back down on core or memory (normally memory), or start to increase voltage if your temps are stable. The 980ti is a very powerful card when kept cool and can be pushed pretty high. The good thing is, as long as your not modifying the vBios (save that for more advanced overclocking later) your settings will revert back to normal upon a crash. Make sure you have your "temperature priority" set no higher than about 85-88. This is the point where the card will thermal throttle. You can also get aggressive with fan profiles if needed.

thermals shouldn't be an issue with this cooler:)
