I7 3770 compatability chipsets

Hello,

I am looking to get a new motherboard for my 1150 socket I7 3770 (non k) cpu
on intel's official site it says they are compatible with z77 motherboards and to be honest i am having trouble finding one in my region(they don't retail anywhere)
so i was wondering since the z97chipset motherboards have the same socket , can i just put my cpu in one of those?
please excuse my noobness i am pretty new to the whole modding scene

ps the upgrade is required because  i want to run 2 R9 290x in crossfire

3770 uses the LGA 1155. z97 won't work

Z97 wont work for that. The i7 3770 uses the LGA1155 socket.

It wont work as the 3770 is LGA 1155 while z97 boards are LGA 1150

Chose a LGA1155 board that has crossfire support and/or features you want. You don't necessarily need a Z board, because your i7 is locked.

As said above Z97 won't work, it has entirely different socket.
