Spare GFX Card - What to do?

Megan

So I have a spare Nvidia GFX card ( I can't recall what it is right now ) but I'm wondering what to do with it?

I could use it as a Phys X card but very few games I play support it so it seems pointless to do that.

One idea I have is to use it as my "main" gfx card and use my other 960's for other things such as Hashcat

But does anyone else have any suggestions?

Or use it for Folding@home or Boinc.

sell it maybe?

Using a dedicated Physicsx card is useless nowadays BTW

Yeah I agree it is useless, especially with how little supported it is too.

Could do.

It depends on what you might have going on in the near future, if you plan on building another system in the near future, it might be a good idea to just keep it, but if its just going to collect dust for the next couple of years or more, I would just sell it.

*cough* it isn't supported because Nvidia unlike AMD makes everything closed-source *cough*

You would lose money on the power bill.

Don't care about power and you still want to do it? Well too bad. Mining with GPUs aren't a good option anymore. Why? Because of ASIC hardware.

ASIC pretty much JUST mines. Doesn't run an operating system like windows 7 (as far as I know) or anything else(like those hundreds of background processes). This allows it to mine with full power AND the hardware is optimized for bitcoin mining.

@Megan what card is it? It would be more helpful if you told us, so we would know approximately how powerful/weak it is.
