Good Z97 mono for sli.

Hey all,

I am looking into going full size ATX from my mATX board. I just don't know what a good full-size board is and how much I should spend on one. I'm not too worried about extreme overclocking, I usually just let the bios give me what little it can. The big thing for me is the PCIe lane position. I want there to be space in between my GPUs so they can breathe.

Thanks.

You're limited to 16 lanes either way unless it has a PLX lane switching (still limited, but managed differently). Find a board with triple slot spacing for the two top physical x16 slots.

The space between PCIe slots is a static amount, completely standard.

There are 2 questions you need to answer before a board can be recommended:

1. Budget

2. Color preference

the rest of your parts would also help.

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

Running a 4790k I have two SSDs an HDD and my GPUs are two  EVGA 970 SSC ACX 2.0.  Im not worried about color my case doesn't have a windowed side panel. Also sorry for the typo, the autocorrect gods are evil.

Ok, So I found a board more suiting to your build then.

It comes with a M.2 Port for crazy SSD performance later on, USB 3.1, USB Type C, SLI Support with air to breath between cards. And has decent overclocking.
