Tasks from Folding@home are done through Work Units. Once you have 21WU completed, you quality for the basic Folding@home badge. The amount of time it takes to complete 1 million points is dependent on how much you run F@H, and the specs of your computer.

Gtx980ti Sli and 32gb ram and 6700k how long do you think?

Are you running it 24/7 on both the GPUs and CPU?

i want to start as I always have it on I don't see why not? It won't damage my PC or anything right?

As long as temperatures are fine, no. Are you registered on LTT's team and have a proper passkey?

no as I said I'm looking to start, I just want badges at my so once I've done the 21wu and 1million points I'll stop, so how long would it take do you think?

I'm not really sure honestly.

 

Bear in mind though that in order to have the badge, you must contact @Whaler_99 somehow and he will provide you with the badge provided you have enough evidence.

If I'm a moral police I will say that that is not the attitude to have when folding, you are contributing to research for cures for diseases, not for an icon below your ugly profile picture, tsk tsk tsk....

 

But I'm not

 

 

Also around a few hours for each WU on the gpu, cpu is not worth folding on, I got 500k points now and 20 WUs, you get the point

thanks so if I do 970 because of reasons max could be a month - 2 months which is what I like to hear so thank you!

Definitely not so long, I am currently folding on a 970 and it takes 3-5 hours for each WU and averages 250k points per full day

a 970 if on 24/7 will probably only take 5 days at most with the CPU also. should be able to squeak over 200k a day with a setup like that. I got my first million with CPU only took like a month and only 20-30k a day usually. if you want to do a lot of WU you can Fold with the Chrome extension app in the chrome store and that will use CPU only and do a lot of short quick WU with a decent i5 it is less than 10 minutes each  once you get enough PM Whaler with proof and a couple days ussualy youll have it but with that type of equipment i wouldnt bother messaging him after the 21 WU and wait for the 1 million so you dont PM him twice so quickly
