that actually looks like quite a coarse filter. but which case is this in and where? (probably more important).

but the difference should be relatively small either way.

both will work fine. Dust filters don't add much resistance. It takes a case like the H440 to add enough resistance to need static pressure fans.

Was looking at a couple cases, arc midi, corsair 400r, 300r

either way the intake would probably be the 2 front and then 2 sides, possibly one on top

would it make a difference if I went with this one?

performance wise it won't make a noticeable difference. It would be easier to clean without the plastic honeycomb over the mesh. This one can be wiped off in one go while the other will take a bit of work to clean.

My take on it is, SP fans are designed to deal better with restrictions than airflow fans ..so if fan is butt-up against HDD cages/rads/filter+grill then I would think SP fans will perform better.

I know that air flow fans are supposed to be used as intakes, but I'm not sure if the dust filters will increase the resistance to the point that static pressure fans would be better suite for intake.

These would be the dust filters

 all help is appreciated

I seem to agree with you, SP fans are designed to deal better with restrictions than airflow fans ..so if fan is butt-up against HDD cages/rads/filter+grill then I would think SP fans will perform better. But would it matter if its in push/pull config?
