Plug my TV to my computer?

Moondrelor

So I had a audio and video sync issue with HDMI to DVI connector previous with my TV and computer.

I mean, I have a really bad input delay but, meh, I don't want to game on it, I just want to play 4k movies on it.

If I got a really long HDMI to HDMI connector, to go from my TV to my computer, in Windows 10 will I get an option to use the TV speakers as my default?

This way I don't get my sound and video out of sync...

Yep! I use a TV as my main moniter just using HDMI and it lets me use those speakers

EDIT:

I may be wrong but can HDMI even do 4k? I thought that was only DP

nvm I am really stupid lmao

yeah, it should be fine. Also unless your TV has HDMI 1.4 (i believe) you'll only be able to do 4k 30Hz, and the response time isn't THAT terrible it's still more than playable, especially for most non-professional / competitive games.

if you just use an hdmi cable then there shouldn't be any audio lag. I have an 40inch visio tv plugged into my gpu and get no lag and i have my audio from my tv going out to my surround sound system and still no lag.

Gpu->tv(hdmi)->panasonic surround sound(rca from tv) and you can set it so its your default speakers

Anything HDMI 1.4 (Cause that is the only HDMI That Supports 4k)

Look for gold plated hehe

A quick google search tells me HDMI can do 4k but only at 30 frames :(

-.- dont buy into really expensive cables. they don't justify their cost unless your getting an extremely long one then in that case still somewhat but only if your going for an extreme length

HDMI 2.0  = 4k@60fps.

I do need a really long one, maybe 15 feet.

Like I said, movies only, not gaming on it.

I'm not sure if my TV is 1.4 or 2.0

Is 2.0 backward compatible with 1.4? Just to check..

I'm googling my TV to see if it is 2.0

HDMI 2.0 is backwards compatible don't worry.

EDIT:

Is HDMI 2.0 backwards compatible with HDMI 1.x?

Yes, all HDMI versions are fully backward compatible with all previous versions

My TV does have 1 HDMI 2.0 Port and 2 HDMI 1.4.

But my GPU only have 2 HDMI 1.4's... Fuck, oh well.

HDMI cable ordered, I'll live with 30FPS for movies lol
