Will a wall PC be lame?

Hello guys!

Well i am thinking of making a wall pc build. I actually have all the tools i need, but the pci-e extender.

My problem is that i cant afford a decent gaming rig. So i think it will be kinda lame to do this build with my current rig.

What do you think?

 

btw my pc:

Asus M4A78

Athlon X4 640

2 sticks of Kingstone Hyper-X 1gb ddr2 memory

Palit 9800GT(yes rly)

Thermaltake TR2 550Watt psu

and ofc 2 HDD's.

I currently store them in a Thermaltake Matrix case

Will it be the most elegant thing on the internet? No, but elegance is overrated. If you enjoy tinkering with your PC and want to build a cool looking case/wall mount, then go for it

 

To me, I would be proud if I built something like a wall mount PC, even if it had "meh" hardware, because I could say that I built it.

Well i guess you are right. 

Who cares about what everyone thinks. It will be something i made and like.

Lame? No, not lame. Underpowered for the amount of effort you're going to put in, yes, but not lame.

Well i may go for a used 6870. Atleast it will not be that underpowered  

Just one question. Is there any specific pci-e extender i need to use?

Hello guys!

Should buy a GPU instead, a 360 is an alright upgrade, a 380 would be even better

Well i finally got a 5870 Vapor-X.

It was pretty much the best i could get for my budget here in Greece(50Euros)

Its not what i expected to be, but its a start. 

Next thing to do is a PCI-E Riser, and a carbon sticker And of course some cable managment. 

Its not great but its a start. 

I will post some pictures when done

It would be cool if you had some sick hardware and a nice display case. 

 

Imagine like a glass box, with some lights in it, all your cords nicely running out of it. Also if it had a custom water cooling loop.

 

This has potential to be awesome, but also to be extremely ugly and lame,.
