I recently put together a new rig, and I'm now second guessing whether I should have gone with a larger PSU given my plans to upgrade video cards this year.

5820k @ 4.4ghz (can push higher but not needed)

MSI Gaming 7 X99

H110i GTX AIO

16gb (4x4) DDR4 Ripjaws

Intel 535 500gb SSD (x2)

My question... is it probable that if I stick with this PSU that I will have enough power to run two of the next gen Pascal cards in SLI (xx70 or xx80 equivalent)?

I realize this is premature, but knowing what we know about the current cards, does it seem likely? I'm not concerned about running it around the limit and shortening lifespan, as the AX760 has a 7 year warranty. I need to know if it's a hell no, so I can return it to Microcenter and go bigger.

CPU || Ryzen 2700x @ 4.3ghz  Motherboard || ROG Strix B450F  RAM || 16GB TridentZ 3600 B-Die  GPU || ASUS ROG Strix 1080Ti  Case || Thermaltake V71 RGB  Storage || Intel 760p 240GB + Intel 535 480GB SSD + 1TB WD 7200RPM HDD  PSU || Corsair HX850i  Cooling || Corsair H110i GTX  Keyboard || Corsair K70  Mouse || Logitech G502 Proteus  Sound || Bose Companion 5  Operating System || Windows 10 Pro

You can run 4 980s in non-overclocked SLI with that system so whatever that answers it answers. If overclocking cards I wouldn't put more than two cards in there.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

It'll most likely be enough.

I forgot to add that I will be overclocking, and I do run my system 24/7 (folding when not gaming).

We can't see into the future. The same answer 'probably' still applies.

Still fine. Nvidia cards have gotten more efficient since Fermi so you should be fine.

To put in perspective and hope it helps, i run 2x 290X' and i7 4790K all at stock on the AX760i when OC'd (i7 to 4.8gees and GPUs 1110core, 1450Mem) total system draw is 622W (around 680W from the wall); benchmarking with unigine heaven, vsync off.

these are one of the hottest running GPU's so I think It'll be ok with more power efficient cards.
