Does anyone know if I can stuff an R9 290 reference in the Raijintek Metis?

I'm absolutely loving this case right now and $59.99 is not at all a bad price for an aluminum case of this caliber.

Where did you find it? I was looking for it though I could only find it in the ugly ass gold and green

Yeah I believe it can fit a 280mm AIO in the front and top and a 140mm cooler ( Like the x41 Kraken ) in the back. Can also fit a 295x2 wink wink.

Do you think I can stuff a 290 in here?

My SFX PSU is much shorter and will allow more clearance, but I'm not sure if it's enough for a 10.6" card like the 290 I have.

Maybe I should get a shorter card?

After some quick math, maybe. It would be a very tight fit, like 8mm if that. Though, where did you find it where it isn't gold or green? The GPU should be able to over the PSU though length wise, yeah like 8mm

I haven't, it's only gold and green on Newegg as far as I can tell. I can easily strip it back down to bare aluminum or get it powder coated/re-anodized though.

Honestly I really want this case but my 290 is longer than the product dimensions on Newegg's page, not sure if I should trust it or not. Maybe I should get a different GPU? Something less powerful like a GTX 960 or something? What will max out games at 60FPS 1080p (BF4, BF3, Battlefront, GTA V <- I'm okay with high settings in GTA V, etc.)?

I love my 290 but I don't mind giving up power in exchange for less heat and power draw, not to mention noise.

1) My GTX 750Ti can handle GTA V High settings 40FPS lol, GPU wise.. You should know not to get a 960 :PxDhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131673&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= is 8.19 inches or the shortest 960 that I would personally get 7.13inches http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125802&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

I was actually thinking of this:

https://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=02G-P4-2968-KR

I think it would fit considering this image:

post-2597-0-37006500-1452306490_thumb.jp

Or, to be honest, whatever card someone is willing to trade me because I'm not buying new, and I'm sure someone out there wants free performance, even if it means I lose some money (I'm willing to for this case).

Maybe I should sell, buy a 960 and the case?

Is that half an inch truly going to make a difference? At that length you misewell just get a Sapphire or MSI 380, though to be safe the PowerColor one I recommended is 8.2 inches which should easily fit.  Someone though like you said should have no problem trading a 380 ( Maybe a 380x ) or 960 for 290

Wait...

The 380 Nitro. That's one of my favorite GPUs of all time, how about that? I think it's very tall though, will it fit height wise?

Edit: Looking at the case, definitely. No problem actually. I think I'll get the 380 Nitro then!

Good question, I can't seem to find specific dimensions other then length for it.

It'll fit no problem, I can tell from the pictures. I Marked Solved in the 960 thread, I'll get the 380 Nitro.

Now, I can either sell my 290 for like $200 or $220, or I can find someone with a 380 Nitro that wants to trade.

OR you can trade me your 290 for my 750ti :D :D Lol, I would put it up for sale or exchange and just see what offer you get first.

I did :)

I used to have a 750 Ti, it was nice but not enough power, sorry. :/

If you bought me the case and traded your 750 Ti, well.... Then I would definitely consider.
