Asus Maximus Viii Impact - Q-CODE 55

Hey guys,

first: my english is not the very best, its not my native language.

I buy last week a New Mainboard, the asus maximus viii impact and the Intel 6700K.

I choose the 2x8GB DDR4 3200Mhz RAM from Corsair. The Corsair Vengeance LPX.

I got the Q-Code 55 when i use both RAM or when i stick 1 RAM into the B1-Slot.

Both RAM work in A1-Slot.

I tried it with CPU-Cooler, without.. etc. I tried some CPU Voltage things in the BIOS to.

I dont want to send the Mainboard back cause I rly need to work this week with my PC.

Is there something else i can do in the Bios? I tried some other RAM-Sticks too, the same Problem..

Is my Mainboard broken?

Are you running your memory in XMP profile?

If so, it could cause issues, try disabling it.

  • Reseat the RAM
  • Try one stick of RAM and add more until the error comes back
  • Reseat the CPU cooler (at least three times)
  • Reseat the CPU (at least three times)
  • Upgrade the BIOS

I don't know what else could be causing the problem :(

You may have to RMA the motherboard or

start with one stick. boot and go into bios

manually set voltage,  frequency and timings

i would try 1.35-1.4V to start with

after a successful restart turn off the machine and install the second stick and see if she boots

55 is a memory error. could also be due to bent socket pins that control the integrated memory controller. the system may not want to boot dual channel

if you cant get if sorted, inspect the cpu socket for damaged or bent pins

Q-Code 55 means "memory not installed".

Have you tried using each of the sticks on its own?

So

Stick 1 in Slot A1

Stick 1 in Slot B1

Stick 2 in Slot A1

Stick 2 in Slot B1

Do each of these scenarios work?

Intel i7 5820K (4.5 GHz) | MSI X99A MPower | 32 GB Kingston HyperX Fury 2666MHz | Asus RoG STRIX GTX 1080ti OC | Samsung 951 m.2 nVME 512GB | Crucial MX200 1000GB | Western Digital Caviar Black 2000GB | Noctua NH-D15 | Fractal Define R5 | Seasonic 860 Platinum | Logitech G910 | Sennheiser 599 | Blue Yeti | Logitech G502

Nikon D500 | Nikon 300mm f/4 PF  | Nikon 200-500 f/5.6 | Nikon 50mm f/1.8 | Tamron 70-210 f/4 VCII | Sigma 10-20 f/3.5 | Nikon 17-55 f/2.8 | Tamron 90mm F2.8 SP Di VC USD Macro | Neewer 750II
