HDMI to Audio?

So I'm using my xbox one along with the monitor for my pc. The monitor does not output sound and I would like to have some way to listen to the Xbox using my headphones or something. Is there any kind of splitter that splits out the audio signal while still allowing video to pass into my monitor?

Does your sound system have an optical input?

bro there is a 3.5mm headphone jack on the controller you plug your headphones in to that.

That's what I do. I have my ATH-M40xs with a cheapo mic going to a 4-pole y-splitter going into the controller.
