Hey guys i own a reference blower style nvidia gtx 970 & i was actually planning on installing a AIO waterblock on it but when i was removing the original heatsink, i was sort of stuck on the last 4 screws that i need to take out because they have been balded due to me repeatedly screwing/unscrewing them.

Any help would be much appreciated.  These mini screws are literally very small and have been balded.  If you want to know which screws i am talking about, they are seen in this YouTube video @ 1:53-2:01:

What would be the best way i can go at this?

Also, are there any AIO type gpu cooler that have a white led like the geforce gtx logo led?  I still want a led logo on my card somehow.

I want something like this:  http://www.corsair.com/en-ca/hydro-series-hg10-n970-gpu-liquid-cooling-bracket

but with a white led logo.

Thanks!

could you share  a pic? I don't feel like taking my reference 970 out to find out what kind of screws. Likely, the first thing i'd try is a rubber band and some pressure, but depending ont he type of screw there's a few other options.

The word you're looking for is stripped. If you have a kneaded eraser putting that into the screw can help the scredriver get purchase. failing that you might need to drill them.

It will be a philips head and they will be raised. OP could try your idea with the band, never tried it myself. Personally if he has rounded them off badly he will have no choice but to either dremel a slit into it for a flat screwdriver or drill them.

Given he's messed up with a screw driver I'd advise he take it to a PC shop/technician to fix the issue. No offense.

I've even done this a few times myself fixing laptops . It happens and makes me wish torx was used more for smaller/softer screws.

The way to prevent this is getting a bit set and using the exact right size in the future. With Phillips, it's easy to use the wrong size (which is why I like torx).

Oh don't I know it! Mega annoying when it fits snug but it's like 0.25mm too small!

right, this is the first thing I tell people that often fix things like laptops. Most have a small screwdriver set (those awesome ones that are easy to grip) but unfortunately getting a proper bit set is very important for these things. Very annoying in the case of stuff like laptops and game controllers, as you have to get a set of deep bits.

I don't know, I wanna say there's one but I can't think of it. I know at least there's some non-stock coolers that have it, but I'm not certain about aios. I think this might call for a new separate thread, hopefully someone can give a good answer to that.
