Hey guys my computer likes to freeze completely every 12 weeks or so. I know it's not really a problem but I would like to know what is stopping my computer every so often.

Note: This issue has been happening a long time before I got my 970 so I doubt it's anything to do with my card.

Specs:

i7 3770k.

geforce gtx 970.

16gb of corsair vengeance ram.

Some cheapo 800w power supply.

These crashes can stop for months on end then just suddenly appear every 6 weeks or so.

These crashes never seem to happen when playing games just when I'm browsing and using my computer normally.

Thanks,

-Keelan

Also sorry for the poorly wrote out thread, I have lots of work to do.

"Some cheapo 800W" - there's your problem. Replace it

I really never thought that the PSU would have anything to do with it because I thought my computer would just turn off rather then freeze?

Freezing, crashing, random restarts, failed POSTs, failed start-up attempts, restarting, system lock-ups, squealing noise, explosive noise, burning smell, heat under your ass - all signs of a dying/dead PSU

The other option is a HDD but seeing as the issue has been present for several months, I doubt it a an HDD would have failed long before. You could run Memtest86+ to exclude RAM as well. Set up a USB drive and run it overnight.
