Graphic card selection

Dalis

I'm possibly in need of a new graphic card. I have a ASUS GeForce GTX 650. I use my PC for games, mainly Skyrim. Recommendations on specs? I.E. Radeon vs GeForce. I have space for up to a triple slot space (ASUS SaberTooth Z97 Mk. 1).

Edit. $400-500 max.

In my experience, it comes down to a few things. AMD cards run much hotter than Nvidia cards do, in general, and use a lot more power. So part of this might be looking at seeing what sort of power draw you can pull from your power supply. I don't know if your board supports 3 way SLI, Crossfire, or both but if you plan on using that feature, make sure it's supported. Some Nvidia cards have features that AMD cards do not have and vice versa, so I'd take a look at both and pick the one that has all of the features you want. Good luck!

They do use some more power, though it's rarely a big deal. And they don't run hotter in general. Depends entirely on the particular card and cooler you get.

Your guide might work for you, but plenty of people will miss out depending on the games they play. And the resolution they game at.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

This is just a 1080p gaming guide. Obviously certain people will need different cards depending on what they do, their resolution, etc.

You have a 1080p guide that advises a Fury? The Fury trips over it's own feet at 1080p.

Just needed to fit something into the price point. It has a 980ti as well. The point is, it's important to have the price point filled with something

One question, are you pushing heavy graphical mods on your skyrim?
