Partition HDD with OS installed?

Hello!

I just ran trough the first time setup on a computer with a 1TB hdd, i was wondering if its possible to partition off 500gb? or do i have to format it and then create two partitions and install windows again?

No you should be able to shrink the volume to 500GB, then create a new volume of 500GB without losing any data :)

As @PhoenixOne pointed out, you should be able to shrink the volume down to 500GB.

you can do it with partition magic..however..I would highly suggest backing up any very important data first...lots of problems with people in the past loosing data this way
