Hi , been having problems with my Palit jetsteam GTX 970 for a while now , I get quite large frame stuttering and fps lag on games such as Black ops 3 and GTA 5. While looking at my CPU usage while playing i do notice that it drops from 70% to around 30% , and I do see FPS drops when this happens. Also i do realise that my disk usage reaches 100% while playing any games , is there any way to fix this?Any ideas why this happens?

My specs:

- AMD FX-8350

- Cooler Master hyper 212 evo

- GTX 970 (palit jetstream)

- 1TB seagate barracuda HDD

- 1x8GB HyperX FURY Series DDR3 1600MHz

- MSI 970A Sli Krait Edition USB 3.1 Motherboard

- 500w EVGA PSU

- NZXT h440 case

P.S -  Sorry if there is something wrong with this post , its my first , Just getting really frustrated with my system. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Also, cpu bottleneck.

No, not even close to being a reason. I ran this exact setup, played black ops 3, no issues.

Your's is overclocked? Don't think he's said if he has or not... And before you say after market cooler so it is overclocked, maybe not as much or he still just didn't. I know people who just get the aftermarket cooler cause it's a little quieter.

I had a problem similar to this, I resolved it by disabling a nvidia streaming service in "admin services". It could be something else. If this was me I'd first start off by installing the drivers fresh. Maybe do a virus scan to make sure there isn't anything in the background running. ( Unlikely) Has this just occurred over night or has it always happened?  Try checking cpu frequency when it's under load. There are so many things that can cause these problems.

I feel your pain man!

Mine is overclocked, by only by 500mhz, it's not a high overclock, stock 8350 is 4.0 - 4.2ghz turbo.

Here are my temps in game : https://gyazo.com/75cad213de1de99693d9b5527474fd6b

My CPU isnt overclocked either, I use the after market one exactly because its much quieter.

Check with a program like HWMonitor,Speccy doesnt sho correct values all the time.
