Retail reference gtx 980 backplate?

Since my 780 ti is a zotac variant, there are still bits of orange all over the back of the pcb. A backplate would be the only way of fixing the problem (orange does not fit in a black and green themed build), however I really dont like the look of the evga backplates.

I much prefer the backplate that came on the reference gtx 970, and gtx 980, however they are not available as a standalone unit. Am I correct in saying this, or is there any way of getting my hands on one of those backplates, and would it even fit on my card (are the screw patters same between the 980 and the 780ti?)

the backplate I'm talking about:

I'm kind of interested in it too but I'm pretty sure they have different screw mounts but I still love my 780 ti so not worth trading it away for a backplate

I'm thing about getting the screw patterns, or a cad drawing of a backplate that would fit my card, and altering it to get the pattern on the reference 980. I have access to a 3d printer, so that would be a cool little project.
