Etheret cable doesnt fit

Build first pc installed windows yesterday and realized internet cable doesnt go in.Some metal is blocking a bit of way 144d5kx.jpg

What did I do wrong and how to fix it? Mobo is  H110M-A

just bend it until it falls off. it' actually supposed to be between the motherboard and the shield.

It's not important though.

You bent the metal on the I/O shield. Take the mobo out and bend it back, it's painful to look at the picture

  1. Remove the motherboard and bend it inwards.
  2. Bend it outwards until the RJ-45 fits.
  3. Break it off completely.

These are your choices. Since it's in the back of the case nobody should notice it unless you plan on showing off your case then number 1 is your best option.

its just an I/O shield... you could take it off completely and it wouldnt hurt anything... but the best thing to do as everyone above has said already... bent it back and forth till the tab brakes off...

Those metal pieces are supposed to touch the top of the actual socket. They ground the board (so do the standoffs) Remove the mobo and bend it back into place

what? i thought it was suppose to just insulate the I/O so you don't short anything out?

 

i.e. not have the metal touch anything...
