Selling iOS apps

Is selling iOS apps a successful thing to do? Never mind the fact that I've never any programming for iOS or apps or anything like that, but, when I do, would creating and selling apps on the App Store be a good thing to pursue?

Depends on the app and the use of the app.

@legend8887 Just use in app   purchases with a "Pro" version or if it's game use micro-transactions for stuff like skins or use DLC.

 

 

Usually? No, unless you actually make a really good app you'll only lose money, you should make free apps and use ads.

They've just discontinued in app ads.

No they haven't. They are stopping apps from advertising themselves using iAd

It's gonna be removed in June. New apps can't use iAD anymore.

Well you don't because The Verge got the story from Engadget who initially got it wrong. Their article has since been updated to clarify its only the iAd App Network which allows devs to advertise their apps using iAd.
