Hello,

I have this really old Toshiba laptop and I trying to figure out what is wrong with it.

Its a Toshiba Amilo XA2528

When I hit the power button, the fan spins up and the CD Rom starts making a noise (repeatedly) ... when I click it a few times it even opens but the screen remains black.

I have tried switching its ram sticks with new ones... but without success.

What do you think its problem might be? Any solutions?

UPDATE: I tried turning it on with its fan disconnected and both the gpu and cpu gave off heat... if that matters. Also there are no HardDrives in the laptop, but that shouldn't be a problem to get to the BIOS.

ram 1 by 1 or the hdd, or try replugging the lcd cable into the mobo its right under the keybaord.

it doesn't have a HDD installed on it.

Tried all kinds of combinations on the ram. It has all 2 slots filled, I tried swaping them, using only 1 stick in each slot even tried the same with a different stick that I know it works.
