Help with new gpu

Today i got a radeon r7 240 put into my pc but when ever i turn on the pc i get 6 short beeps and that just leeps repeating

The shop i was in (they installed it) said it should just work fine

Any ideas

what motherboard do you have?

. I dont know its a old prebuilt pc

If it's a Dell PC, 6 beeps indicates a video card failure.

Did you have a GPU in that computer before? Also, do you have any other computers that have a compatible PCIe slot?

No i dont have another pc and it is a brand new card

AMD A10-5700 APU with Radeon HD graphics.

was your monitor cable plugged into the one labeled integrated or discrete before you bought the r7 240?

It's probably your graphics card then. you can try turning off the computer and taking out the card, and putting it back in (then turning the computer back on of course). If that doesn't work, the card may be dead. Post your results.

ya i have tryed uninstalling it and i have restarted a few times so ill just reinstall the old one and if it works then i know the cards dead

If it doesn't work you can go back to the shop and see if they will replace it for you. If not you should be able to RMA the card to get a new one.
