i5 4670k rendering

My i5 4670k at 4.5 ghz is taking 1 hour 40 minutes to render a 2 second after effects clip? Is this normal?

Yes. Because i5s aren't the miracle children people make them out to be.

no...unless its an extremely intensive clip with a thousand effects...

you can render perfectly fine on an i7

 

i dont know why so many people think you need an i7 to render stuff

 

an i7 is only about 1.5-2x as fast
