Hey guys,

I need your opinion...  How good is Star Wars Battlefront?  Rate it 1-10 and please tell me the negatives and positives of the games.

Thanks!

That's 100% subjective.

Me personally? 7/10 for an FPS. Very casual, very easy, very fun. A lot like CoD. It doesn't take much to get into, and it doesn't take much to be good at the game. The vehicle mechanics SUCK, but the loadout system is OK. There's hardly any maps, but they're big and cool I guess.

Shooting is OK. It's Star Wars, so there's tons of bullet travel. Leading a target is easy. The guns are dead accurate, even when firing from the hip (you really never need to aim unless you have a marksman rifle.) It doesn't take too many shots to kill. Most games last quite a while (for a game in this genre, around 20-30 minutes.)

2/10. The only good thing about it are the aesthetics in my opinion. It fails hardcore in everything else.

This is what my friend says too.  Can you give a little more insight please?

Imo 3/10

Pro´s:

Graphics and sound are extremely good

Gunplay works ok

Con´s:

Not much content

Crappy vehicular combat

OP Heroes

No singleplayer value

Stupid StarCard system which leaves you extremely underpowered the first rounds

No real Squad features

No dedicated servers

Some maps have problems (choke points, camping spots, some points you need to take as a rebel are in direct line of sight of AT-AT´s,...)

Nade spamming

Imo:

If it wasn´t for the Star wars license, no one would even talk about this game anymore...

Okay so overall, it looks like it's a shit game.   Thanks for the insight - obviously not worth the money.

My friend even says you might get more worth out of your money if you use the cash as toilet paper....

  • 2 weeks later...

I think this will help understanding why I can't stop playing it but still I hate it:

2 months after release:

Still bugged.

Still rare cheaters ruining gameplay.

Still no team balance.

Still no gameplay improvement.

Still no HUD improvement.

Still capped up to 40 players.

AND

I am having difficulties during matchmaking at any hour. I'm in Italy, my broadband ADSL is pretty fast (40ms on speedtest), but sometimes I'm being dropped in a server pinging 150 or even 350 ms! It's ridicolous! More time is passing, more frequently I even can't find a single match! It's like the game has no players all over the world. I have never experienced that total failure of matchmaking in any game (and I am playing PC since "Wolfenstein 3D").

Graphics are stunning, anything "smells" Star Wars... so... it's up to you.
