Best Graphics card for 3 monitors

Max Zebrowski

I have an R9 290X graphics card in my system currently and I am concerned that I am reaching bottlenecks when I'm running 3 monitors at 1080p. I don't have space in my system for 2 graphics cards because of the sound cards I have in it. I need 1 graphics card that will be able to run 3 monitors and is easily water cooled.

Fury X comes water cooled out of the box. Else, 980 Ti or 390X

i just want to make sure, you are talking about gaming on all 3 correct? we get questions from people from time to time wondering about just running random monitors even if they just game on one

Not 390x (unless they crossfire it) but more like an R9 Fury.

Just curious if anyone wants to read where the OP says only one card.

The Nitro Fury is an excellent choice for bang for the buck.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

I´d go with an EVGA ACX2.0 SC GTX980Ti. nVidia is stronger in FHD than AMD with their highend cards and the three monitors will run smooth off 1 card. There are also EKWB available for this card so a custom loop isn´t a problem at all. Also you´ll have 6GB VRAM that will put you in a safe zone for a while.

Intel i7 7820X (delidded) @ 4.9GHz - MSI X299 M7 ACK + EKWB Fullcover Block - G.Skill Trident Z 32GB @ 3466MHz - nVidia Titan Xp + EKWB Fullcover Block @ 2.1GHz - Samsung 960Pro 2x - WDD Blue 2TB - Seasonic 750W Platinum - modded Corsair 600C - Hardtubed Custom Watercooling

I vote AMD Fury. Amd has better multi-monitor support, and generally performs better at higher resolutions (3 1080p monitors are a higher res than a 1440p monitor)

I also vote Sapphire Nitro. Just ordered two myself.

Intel i7 6700k @ 4.8ghz, NZXT Kraken X61, ASUS Z170 Maximus VIII Hero, (2x8GB) Kingston DDR4 2400, 2x Sapphire Nitro Fury OC+, Thermaltake 1050W

That´s not true anymore nVidia Surround works very stable. That was a problem in the past. The only thing that nVidia cards don´t like when it comes to Surround is displays of different sizes, but who would surround a 27" with a 21" and a 24" monitor?

By the way those two Furys will be bottlenecked like crazy by your CPU...
