So Im going to build a computer for work and family. I will work allot with documents and text and on the Internet. I will also edit family videos(no 4k or 1080p and 60fps videos :D) So Im wondering will these parts work together?

 

CPU/GPU: Intel Core i5-6600K

CPU FAN: Cryorig C7

 

Motherboard: ASUS Z170-A

 

RAM: Kingstone Value DDR4 2133MHz 16GB

 

Case: Cooler Master CM Force 500 Midi Tower

 

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

 

PSU: Corsair RM550, 550W PSU

You could probably get a lower wattage power supply if you're not using a discrete graphics card.

You could probably gvet away with a smaller psu, and a xeon 1231v3 + h97 will be cheaper and more powerful if you don't OC.

Even if he OCs to 4.5GHz the Xeon will be a good 20% faster

Depends on the scenario. In his current usage, it might be faster with the 6600K at 4.5GHz.

Video editing. I bet my money on the Xeon

The 6600K is first and foremost a performance/gaming chip. I'd probably go with a 6500, maybe even a Haswell chip if it's just a family PC. I'd also suggest going with a Coolermaster or Noctua cooler and a smaller PSU.
