Comcast Messing With Me

I had no idea where to post this but while I was away at school for the Summer my mom had been harassed by Comcast. My mom requested to change her services and they kept denying her trying to keep her in her plan. So she just stopped paying them. She was barely home so it did not really matter for her. Then there "Collections" agency literally stood outside my mothers house attempting to get her attention. Finally she got them to go away by just paying over 600$ USD. So fast forward to now and I am home for a little bit. When she asked again to change her services the lady on the phone for customer service basically tricked my mom into keeping her cable and getting the lowest end internet speed. The "essential" package since my brothers in Florida Public School. So when I got home I took it upon myself to cancel the cable. Comcast AGAIN argued with me and wouldn't cancel it. They also stopped billing me and without my permission changed it to the online pay crap. So yesterday I am enjoying my lovely floridian day before one of there "Collection" agents starts to bang on my front door. Apparently they wanted me to pay 87$ USD for a unknown charge and they wanted to take my internet modem and cable boxes. Then when I said i used the internet for work on Monday he said "Call Comcast". EVEN THOUGH HES COMCAST. Anyways so when i ask for my total balance he hits me with 200$ fucking dollars even though "Essentials" only cost 10$ and its already quite shitty. So my mother starts going off on the guy about there shitty service and when she was done I guess he was scared to take the stuff so he left and said to just call Comcast. Also during this little talk he told me Comcast was implementing Phone service Esque data caps??? Like I haven't had any Data Caps in over 10 years. Sorry if im a little of out the loop if this is normal I am a music engineer so I haven't had a lot of Networking updates. BTW if you guys have any recommendations for South Florida internet providers please tell me. Sorry if im hard to understand im heated right now.

They stood outside her door getting her attention? That's harassment. They legally must cancel your Internet plan on request unless there's a contract involved.

Theres no contract I have no idea why they wont do it. They just put us on thirty minutes holds while they transfer us to the guy who convinces us leaving is a bad idea.Comcast is worst then when i had TWC honestly.

They must do it - I would call the police and tell them that they won't cancel your service plan. Like I said, they're harassing you as well.

Yeah man Im most likely cancelling my service these guys are getting a little uncomfortable the service they provide is reminding me alot of the early 2000s late 90s type shit,

Just record your calls to them next time, just make sure you tell them they are being recorded. State your intentions plainly and leave it at that, if they try to come back with other recommendations/bs to get you to stay just tell them your intentions again and hang up. If they try to keep billing you then have proof of the conversations and can use it if you need.

Contact your state's attorney generals office. Maybe Comcast will get their head out of their ass when the Government gets involved. Or you could try contacting a news outlet. Here in metro Detroit we have the Fox 2 problem solvers. Maybe you have something like that in your area.

Wow, I had a totally different experience with Comcast, I wish they had Comcast in my area. :(

 

If you want to cancel your service without any hassle, just tell them you're moving to another area that doesn't have their service (i.e. St. Petersburg) and they'll get you cancelled in under 5 minutes (they even refunded my last payment and waived the ETF fees for the 1 and a half years I had left with them).
