Hello guys!

So, I have this problem: I added a new VGA (an R9 390) to my rig, and my PC simply does not detect it. The card is connected to the power source (with a 6 PIN), so it should be getting enough power, but it simply does not display it. I have already tried the following: I checked BIOS VGA priority, and it was on PCI (not internal graphics), so that should be OK. I checked whether the power source was strong enough (I put the CPU and motherboard on a seperate power source and put the VGA on my proper, 500 W model), but it didn't help either. I also made a run with my old relic, an ATI x-600, just to make absolutely sure that the power was enough and the same thing: it was producing heat, but didn't show up in the Device Manager or GPU-Z. So I ask you guys, what else should I try?

Is your GPU (not VGA) even getting power from the PSU?

and r9 390 needs 750W PSU

EDIT: or 650W

I'm running with a 520W. Your argument is invalid. LOL :D

snip

Anyways, what R9 390 do you have ? You sure you only need 1 6pin to power that ?
Or drivers maybe ?

CPU: Intel i5-4590 | Motherboard: Asus H97M-E | GPU: Sapphire Nitro R9 390 | RAM: 2x4Gb Kingston HyperX Fury Black | SSD: Sandisk Plus 240Gb HDD: Seagate 250Gb  | PSU: Seasonic G650 80+ Gold | Case: NZXT S340

I am who I am.

500W is enough but anywhere around 550W is good for a 390.

He's using 2 PSUs he's got more than enough power as long as he can get them both to power his components

I was just saying to FilipSebik that a 390 only needs about a 550W PSU.

Two 390s will need about a 800-850W PSU or more if plan to push the system to the limit.

The SPU has only 6 PIN, so no, that could be the problem, but it still wouldn't explain why the other card doesn't work (it is functional). Also shouldn't GPU-Z just display the device? Anyways, thanks for the help, guys.

if it doesn't get enough juice it won't show up in the device manager
