5.1 surround under $200

Im looking for a speaker set for my room without spending $300+ like ive been seeing with most sets. I saw the Monoprice premium 5.1-Ch. home theater system with subwoffer, but i dont know like anything about which brands are reliable for audio and such. So if you have any suggestions on a better set it'd be appreciated. Thanks

Can't say I know anything about their system, but I've always found monoprice stuff to be okay for holding up. I will say you'll probably be disappointed by a surround system made up of such tiny woofers and tweeters. Are you aware that you also need a receiver for that set.

 

For your budget I would look into getting a receiver then just two speakers. Add speakers as you have the funds.

I agree with Rmusic10891 in that you should get just two speakers first. While Logitech is not necessarily representative of the entire market, I tried a Logitech 5.1 set at around $200 a few years ago, and it had soft, bloated bass and not much high frequency response. Maybe it'll do fine for home theater, but It'll probably suck for music.
