Hi

My mates dad is looking at getting a new computer for his job, he edits photos and is rendering images quite a lot. He has used mac for years and is wondering if he would be better off buying a pc this time around.

Budget: 1.2k

Software need:

All the adobe software but mainly Photoshop cs6.

Just wondering what your guys opinions are should he stay on mac or move over to pc?

Partpicker links appreciated.

Thanks,

Sam  :P

-snip-

He will probably get more performance and power out of a PC, but if he worked for a long time on a mac, then it might be better to simply go back to a mac.

And if he does it as his job, then it is obviously important. So I would stay on a Mac. It's easier for him.

I guess he's gonna be storing all of his photos on an external HDD. @Sweatford

If he does the work professionally, he probably also color manages.  In which case OSX is better than Windows.  Stick to a Mac.

If he doesn't color manage, it doesn't matter.
