I'm trying to find out if anyone can build me a decent/good $500 gaming PC. I tend to play source games such as CS:GO and Blacklight:Retribution and basically it. I plan on buying a 144hz monitor so that wouldn't be included in the price, or you can if you want but the components can be 500-700 and around there. I hope to get at least more than 60 fps, maybe like 120+ if possible at lowest 1920x1080 etc.. Thank you guys :)

For those specs at that price range you would need to play old games, or play them at low settings. For resolutions and refresh rates like that I would recommend a build that would cost $1,000+

Please "Quote" me if you want me to see your response.

Can you build me the lowest priced build you can that can run a 144hz monitor and everything like that?

ask mommy for more money. lol.

cpu: I like my i5 4690k..or something similar like a i5 4660

gpu: people always say they'll only play source games but i ended up playing all sorts of games. I dont know what to recommend for you but i will tell you that i currently own a superclocked gtx 960 at 4 gigs and it runs great. I have 22 inch triple monitors and i can run csgo at full graphics at around 200-300 fps. But again, even my gpu isn't the best for games such as just cause 3 and gta 5. if you want something good for those games i would recommend a gtx 970 or 980.

motherboard: anything that is compatible with your specs and that can handle high temps. they sell decent priced gaming keyboards.
ram: def go with 8 gigs of ddr3 ram. more ram could always be added later and 8 gigs is def plenty

power supply: anything with around 500 watts should be good. More is always better so that u can upgrade in the future. Also, getting a fully modular power supply is a great investment and can help a lot with cable management. Also, pay attention to the quality (i.e. bronze, gold, titanium, etc.)

hard drive: go western digital 1 TB for now. You could always upgrade that later as well.

Here are my specs if ur interested. I built my computer like last year and it was $970 at the time but im sure now the build is worth a lot less

GPU : EVGA GeForce GTX 960 (Superclocked, 4GB)
CPU : Intel Core i5 4690k Quad-Core Processor (3.5 Ghz)
Mobo : Asus Z97-A Motherboard
Ram : Corsair Vengeance 8 GB (2 x 4 GB)
HDD : 1TB Western Digital Blue 7200 RPM
SSD: 240 Gig Intel SSD
Case : NZXT S340 Black
OS : Windows 10

that cpu looks terrible. put 70-80 more dollars on that and u can get an i5 quad core processor instead of an i3 dual core processor. So much of a better investment.

500$ and 144hz will not happen. You should aim for 1080p@60hz.
