Auido mixing

So, I recently purchased FL Studio so that I could work on making music. Unlike when I'm drawing (When I can draw and listen to music at the same time), making music requires me to listen and work on it.

My question: is it possible to have one audio signal set to mono and playing in the left ear (something like a youtube video of gameplay), and listen to the music that I'm making in my right ear? Like, mix 2 audio signals to the same pair of headphones?

youre not going to be able to make any good music if youre listening to something else at the same time.....

I realize it's not ideal, but I never planned on making stereo music(At least, not to start). I'm already proficient at multitasking by listening to 2 different things at once (Headset systems in a theatre... lots of people chatter), I was wondering if it were possible to mimic that. I just want some background noise to listen to while making music (I know, counter intuitive)

You could pan the DAW master fader to one ear so everything you are making in FL is only in one ear but as far as panning the music you are streaming from youtube or itunes I think you might be out of options.
