I upgraded my custom PC a while ago (a couple months) from Windows 7 Home to Windows 10 Home and when I go into Windows update to enable insider features but it's greyed out and at the top it says "Some settings are controlled by your operator" this probably has something to do with me changing from a local account to a Microsoft account because when I try to delete some other files owned by my previous account it gives an error.

Save a couple backups of all your personal files on separate drives (or at least one backup) and do a clean install of Win10. You're going to have nothing but problems with the upgrade.

Also, if you are going to go that route, make sure you save your license key so that you can activate your clean install. Use BelArc Advisor to log everything as it sits and print out the report.

Wat? What file?

You were talking about Windows 10, right? If you're having issues with an Windows 10 upgrade then the best way to fix them is to do a clean install of Windows 10. Make sure all your personal files are backed up and up to date, and then make sure you write down your Windows 7 license key so that you can use it to activate your install of Windows 10.

EDIT: Wait, do you have a dual boot Windows and Linux? If so, and you created the files you were trying to delete in Linux, then that would probably explain why Windows was telling you that you didn't have permissions to delete it. Either way, a clean install of Windows is recommended.

No, it was a live USB. It was a file that was created in windows causing the problem and I was able to delete it in Linux due to complete control of all files.

Edit: I have a laptop HDD so backing up over 100GB of games would take way too long.
