1. Budget & Location: Texas and my budget is $710 including taxes/shipping.

2. Aim: This is a gaming only PC.

3. Monitors: I own an Acer G246HYL 24" 60hz IPS monitor.

4. Peripherals: I'm going to buy the Logitech G402 for $40 (I don't need the extra features that the G502 has). I'm going to use my old keyboard for now.

5. Why are you upgrading? It's a brand new build because I'm a converted console peasant! lol

6. Expectations: I'm hoping this build can run all games on 1920x1080p at High to Ultra (or a mix of both) @ 55 fps on average (my monitor is 60hz so more than 60 would be a waste and I would need vsync to stop tearing).

Primary Games: Marvel Heroes 2015, GTA V, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, World of Tanks, Armored Warfare, Cities Skylines, Borderlands (all of them), and Diablo 3.

Secondary Games: The Witcher 3, Just Cause 3, Rise of Tomb Raider, Fallout 4, Ark Survival Evolved, and Metal Gear Solid 5.

Micro Center Build:

i5 4590 $160

BeQuite! Pure Rock (Own)

Asus H97i-Plus $100

Western Digital Blue 1TB $55

Sapphire R9 380X Nitro $240 (same price as the R9 380 Nitro so why not)

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 1600mhz (Own)

Seasonic M12II 620 (Own)

Phanteks Evolv ITX (Own)

Logitech G402 $40

8GB USB $4 (for windows 10 install)

Steelseries QcK mousepad $10

6ft HDMI cable $10 (For my monitor, it only came with a VGA cable lol)

Total: $670.07 w/taxes

Windows 10 from Reddit $35

Grand Total: $705.07 w/taxes

Final Thoughts: I have been debating on just using the IGPU on the i5 4590 for one to two months in order to save for a GTX 970 instead of the R9 380X. But I'm not sure if it's worth it since I don't really play FPS games with a 144hz monitor. I know the R9 390 is the better buy over the GTX 970, but in the Evolv ITX case it gets up to 80-85c while gaming on air cooling.

With the $260 w/taxes left over I can buy a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD $180 with a SteelSeries 6Gv2 mechanical keyboard $90 and drop the WD 1TB HDD.

Maybe try Fitting a XEON 1231v3 into your Budget has 4more virtual cores otherwise pretty decent setup

CPU: Xeon 1230v3 - GPU: GTX 770  - SSD: 120GB 840 Evo - HDD: WD Blue 1TB - RAM: Ballistix 8GB - Case: CM N400 - PSU: CX 600M - Cooling: Cooler Master 212 Evo

Update Plans: Mini ITX this bitch

I agree maybe a better cpu. But overall nice build. I would go for a k series cpu. Maybe squeeze some more performance.

He doesn't really need a Xeon though. extra cores won't be too important if he's only gaming.

You can grab a more expensive card like a 970 or a 390 for ~270 if you are a first time customer at jet dot com with a promo code like get20off which is 20% off up to 50 bucks. You could also use the code on a cheaper card, up to you. Jet has a wide variety to choose from. Obviously your max savings will be on something priced at 250 because you'll get the full 50 off. (This all assumes you're USA based and willing to wait 1-2 weeks for your order to arrive and you most likely wont be taxed on your order)

Pitythefool I LOVE YOU! I was planning on waiting a month to save up to get the GTX 970 so two weeks isnt a big deal and I'm in the US. With your idea I can get one for $274.49! The Sapphire R9 380X at Micro Center is $260 after taxes! I'm gonna pay the extra $15 for the GTX 970 and nearly stay in budget THANKS!

Made some changes to the build so my PC will last longer since I wont upgrade anything except the GPU for at least 5 years. Its gonna cost a little more but I already have a good cpu cooler and psu for it so shy not. Ill add a 1tb HDD in the future as well. Thanks for everyones help! Ill start a new thread in the build logs section when I build it within the next month or two.
