Could having an outdated as hell version of windows 7 screw with a 980ti, buddy doesn't like feeding the monopoly that is windows.

He gets random spikes in core clock and voltage. Nothing is wrong with the card itself as we tried it in my rig and it worked flawlessly.

We dont talk about piracy really here. Tell your friend to just buy a license key off of the Microsoft reddit. No need to pirate it..

may just be some bad support with the drivers and or software you are using to look at the specs

Well, we don't give advice to people on how to pirate or advocate for it, but if it's just a question on whether a pirated version of Windows would cause issues like the ones OP stated, that's fine.

Not what I meant, I meant since it has 0 updates for the new Nvidia cards.

Thats also not what i meant.

you said "He gets random spikes in core clock and voltage."

I was saying how even if Microsoft found out he has a hacked OS, why would they do that? As in spiking voltage and core? Trying to kill the card? And if they were won't they just crank it to the max and even more?

I would just go with the #1 answer in this forum, update the drivers and turn it off and on again.
