I cant get my drivers to work and I just cant anymore, I've tried.

Ok, So, I'm running
i5 4590
Sabretooth Z87
2 Gtx 770 Sli
16gb DDR3 (corsair LP 1600)
480gb PNY SSD
Windows 10
Dlink DWA-582

So I've just upgraded my temp 7770 to dual 770's but I ran into a snag where my old windows install didn't like it, fine no big deal fresh install, but I don't have a Windows 7 ISO or a second computer, Alright I'll go buy windows 10, great. Do a fresh install, things are looking peachy.

So I try to install my wireless drivers, doesn't work, they never fucking do but sometimes they do, but PC aint having it, Alright well it's coming up in devices as PCI simple communications controller, so I update drivers by choosing from list of installed drivers assign it to DWA-582, Nope, not happening, so maybe my problem is somewhere else, maybe my motherboard drivers need to be updated

Yeah they do to support 4th gen intel, lets do it, download the latest drivers from asus and copy paste them, click click click, install, installer prompts me for intel ME, Ok that must be my problem, lets have at it then, google it and take the first one, doesn't work, alright, this was meant to NUCs using Widnows 10, Desktops only have up to windows 8.1, google search for "Intel ME windows 10" brings me to a Lenovo Intel ME driver, alright I'll take it if that's all there is.

It works(don't know how to uninstall these), Bios updates, still no wifi, alright USB tethering to Cellphone works, lets get my video card drivers, they failed as well, and now I need help, I don't get it, This is my first time using Intel and NVidia, I thought they were supposed to be better, WTF, Why doesn't this work please help me.

  • Uninstall stuff you've installed
  • Go on Motherboard website, install everything except bloatware (yeah, including management engine)
  • install Windows 8.1 version of your WiFi drivers

I genuinely don't know how this has happened, most people manage it fine.

- Why not just fresh install at this point

- There is only an installer(has drivers for vista-10), and it just flat out fails.

Yeah, go for it. Make sure you've got your drivers prepared on a memory stick beforehand though.

What is the make of your wifi card btw?

just started talking with a guy from D-link technical support, and I explained that I cant get the drivers to work for the PCI Wifi card, his solution just access the internet and download the windows updates...THANKS MATE, If only I had some sort of card to wirelessly do that, because my access point is 3 stories down...great tip.

And, I dont mean to sound mean, but there's no way of relocating your stuff downstairs for a few so you can download all of this on a wired connection?

I don't have a small monitor, I could, but that involves carrying a 50" tv downstairs in the middle of the night.
