I think Paul from Pauls hard ware got his 970 SC to 1.5 Ghz

 

Paul got a golden sample. Mine is more in line with the experience of other 970 SC owners when I asked on the EVGA forums. The SSC is awesome though, much better power delivery and a superior heatpipe design. The SSC was EVGA's response once it came out that two heatpipes don't even contact the core on the 970 SC.

Oops, I was wrong. It's one heatpipe that doesn't contact the core on the EVGA 970 SC cards.

Would you say the Gigabyte G1 gaming is a better option?

I might as well start a poll. I am really not sure which one is better. I am 50/50 right now.

Yes, the G1 Gaming is probably the best 970 on the market other than the $400 EVGA Hybrid. I wish I would have sprung the extra $20 for the G1 Gaming instead of the 970 SC ACX 2.0.

You're right, I'm not looking because it doesn't look bad enough for me to feel the need to raise it so I don't compromise my PC gamer pride. -.-
