First time mechanical keyboard user...

Go to solution Solved by TheMail,

In my opinion, an amazing compromise between typing and gaming Cherry MX Brown's.

So here are some options for brown keyswitches

Looking to buy my first Mechanical keyboard...

Heard of all this different Cherry MX switches and i have no idea which one would be right for me!

Does anyone have any recommendations for my first mechanical keyboard?!

Must be:

-Reasonably priced

-Optimised more for gaming then typing

-Backlit preferably

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Feel them. I personally would point you towards this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129012

It's quite nice, good for gamers and typists, and reasonably priced, with a backlight. Again, try before you buy.

Take a look at CM Storm. They have epic keyboard for better prices than ducky or filco and they have identical build quality. As for key switches, get the sampler kit from wasdkeyboards.com (down at the moment) but that helped me make my decision on reds

Ive looked at the K95 but it seems a little pricey for my first mechanical keyboard...

I got mine from that site and I'm in the UK :/ I can't remember how much the shipping was.  In terms of browns, ask @Jackbe He just got a ducky shine 3 with browns and a red backlight and I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you about it. He's actually making a review video right now

I do not have a recommendation but based on my experience I would advise strongly against the Mionix Zibal, I have had one experience connection issues, later the backlight failed, the warranty replacement for that has also had it's backlight fail.

It's been a little over a year since I bought the original keyboard.
